Shout out to our Mill Bay team in their ongoing efforts to raise food, funds and awareness for Island Savings a division of First West Credit Union's signature cause The Full Cupboard. I had the pleasure of joining Full Cupboard Champion Ashly Gait for a plate presentation picture at the CMS Food Bank on Tuesday afternoon. The large donation of $4,314 will mean that more than 12,942 meals can be generated for those in need. Food Bank Manager Traci Waite and her team of long time volunteers were very appreciative of the donation and proud to give Ashly and I a grand tour of their facility with a look at some special photo memories of how it all started. The money raised through the Full Cupboard was done through a number of initiatives including ongoing individual donations, bottle returns from the Island Return It South Cowichan location, a special in branch raffle involving more than 15 business donations and a second Beer and Burger Night fundraiser at the CobbleStone Pub. A huge amount of thanks to Ashly Gait who has been instrumental in helping to coordinate and organize the recent fundraisers with the ongoing support of the Mill Bay team!
