Community Farm Volunteer

Help us work towards a more equitable distribution of food in the Okanagan!

COME JOIN OUR FARM VOLUNTEER FAM!
Come join us at our community farm plot for a season full of getting your hands dirty, fun in the sun, and fresh veggies! This inclusive outdoor volunteer opportunity is welcoming to folks of all ages and abilities. It’s a great way to get fresh air, take home tasty produce for yourself and your family, and help ensure that fresh produce makes its way to our community partners who distribute it to those in need. The majority of the produce harvested at our farm plot gets donated to community organizations that run food security programs like community meals or food hampers.
Our farm volunteers help at all stages of growing and harvesting veggies at our community farm plot, and they also help to keep our farm plot neat and tidy throughout the season.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
We typically host 2-3 volunteer days in a week; some during the week, some on weekends. Simply add your self to our farm volunteer mailing list by going to https://fruittreeproject.com/vol... and signing up where it says "Yes, I want to volunteer", then selecting "Kelowna Farm Plot". We sent out an email every time we host a farm day, and you simply sign yourself up through the link we include in the email. You do not need to commit to attending a series of shifts ahead of time, you simply sign up for the day(s) you would like to attend. When you register, a confirmation will be sent to you from Eventbrite that contains all of the information you need including the address of our plot, what to bring, what we will be doing on that specific day, and who your farm leader is for the day.
**IMPORTANT**: Please note that the address shown below is our PO Box address, NOT the address of our farm plot. We send the address of the farm plot only to volunteers who register for one of our volunteer shifts by clicking the link in our volunteer emails.

This volunteer position has no scheduling requirements attached to it. You can work out your availability and time commitment directly with the organizer.
